Yet Another SNES Game Is Yanked From Virtual Console

A disturbing trend is beginning to form around Nintendo's Virtual Console service on the Wii concerning classic retro games and their removal from the service. Like SNES hits R-Type, Sim City and the Donkey Kong Country series before it, Super Turrican has been removed from the service without warning. Nintendo has once again given no reason for why this keeps happening and it continues to illustrate the divide of Gamer's who prefer digital titles and those who prefer physical copies. While this issue is still relatively minor at the moment, I foresee a potential lash back happening in the next generation of consoles where "you buy it, they own it" becomes more prevalent and customer choice begins to be dictated by console manufacturers. For the time being, you can still get Mega Turrican and Super Turrican II on the Virtual Console so I recommend doing so if those game interest you just in case they get the ax as well.
