Zelda Fans Imagine How Wind Waker HD Might Play On The Wii U This Fall

With Nintendo's January announcement of The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD, fans began to wonder how the game would take advantage of the Wii U's innovative control setup. The crew over at Cubed3TV decided to create a mockup video to give fans an idea of what is possible and it is pretty damn slick. Using the Gamecube original of the cel shaded classic, they give an idea of just about every control option the series has offered and then some. We will get the official reveal of the game at E3 2013 but I do recommend that any Zelda fan check out this video just to get an idea of what's possible.
While some of the mainstream gaming press are quick to write this game off as a quick cash grab by Nintendo, I feel there is more here than meets the eye. Nintendo does not endlessly remake their games, they tend to have a purpose behind releasing a game such as this. Put simply, Wind Waker HD is the testing ground for bringing us the yet unnamed Zelda Wii U. The development team will get to test the graphics and control capabilities of the system while getting feedback from the fans on what they do and don't like. The is a very smart way of giving fans something special while allowing the developers the chance to fully grasp the HD console. The game will also allow new players who missed the Gamecube classic to experience one of the greatest Zelda games ever made.
