Nintendo Adds Stylus Control In Latest Pikmin 3 Update!

Pikmin 3 is an excellent game that offers lots of options in terms of control. Everything from the GamePad to Wii Remote & Nunchuk (and many options in between) were available from day one with one notable exception. That exception was the excellent touch screen controls present in the underrated Nintendo Land and its excellent Pikmin Adventure.

I always found it odd that stylus control was such a focus (and obvious advantage) in the Wii U launch title but was oddly missing in the fully featured Pikmin 3 which came out nearly a year later. Happily Nintendo has fixed this with their latest update which in my opinion is a game changer for Pikmin 3. While the analog controls were serviceable and the Wii Remote & Nunchuk options worked quite well, nothing beats the new stylus control which offers a level of precision usually reserved for RTS mouse controls. People often bitch and complain about the GamePad due to many developers not fully utilizing it but this new update offers up a very compelling argument in favor of Nintendo's innovative controller. If you haven't played Pikmin 3 in a while, I urge you try the new controls which make an already great game even better.

Super Smash Bros. Wii U Gets GameCube Controller Support!

Nintendo is about to unleash the new Super Smash Bros. at this years E3 and the gaming world couldn't be more excited. The Big N has even stepped into the competitive gaming world with the announcement of an invitational tournament which will feature a slew of pro Super Smash Bros. players, all being featured worldwide on June 10th. To support this event, Nintendo has released an E3 2014 announcement video which details the entire event and ends with a surprise that few saw coming.

With the level of hype and excitement being generated around the new game, fans have been eagerly awaiting any news of GameCube controller support for the game. While there are other companies stepping up to support the game, official Nintendo hardware is second to none both in terms of quality and performance so it's understandable that Gamer's want something straight from the Big N. With today's announcement video, Nintendo revealed the GameCube Controller Adapter for Wii U. The adapter connects to the Wii U through the 2 USB ports on the front of the system and supports four wired controllers (the WaveBird will likely be supported but no announcement has been made). Expect full details and pricing at E3 and don't be surprised if the GameCube Virtual Console is announced as well. Enjoy!

Pusho World Coming To Wii U Next Month!

People love to complain that Nintendo doesn't create new franchises anymore and relies to heavily on big names like Mario and Zelda but the truth is that there are a ton of new series from Nintendo (you just have to know where to look). Honestly, releasing a big new franchise is both expensive and very risky with the process sinking many game development studios over the last 5 years. Nintendo has realized this and instead introduces new characters and franchises through their eShop which has been quite successful and given us gems like Dillon's Rolling Western, The Denpa Men and Pushmo.

Pushmo (and its sequel Crashmo) has been a big success on the 3DS giving us 2 games starring the red, round sumo wrestling cat Mallo. Its simple yet addicting puzzle gameplay perfectly captures the spirit of the best Nintendo has to offer. Nintendo is bringing the series to the big screen with Pushmo World for the Wii U. The game will feature HD visuals, 250 new puzzles and the ability to create/share/play new levels online essentially offering limitless replay value. Pushmo World will push its way onto the Wii U eShop on June 19th for $9.99. Enjoy!

New GameCube Inspired Controller Coming To Wii U

PDP (Performance Designed Products) is partnering with Nintendo to develop a "Wired Fight Pad" which takes inspiration from the GameCube controller. Much like the Wii Classic Controller (Pro), the Fight Pad will plug into your Wii Remote and will be fully compatible with both the Wii & Wii U. The controller will come in a variety of flavors that feature famous Nintendo characters such as Mario, Yoshi and Princess Peach.

This move seems to be in direct response to Super Smash Bros. fans who showed concern at the lack of a GameCube controller for the latest game coming to Wii U this fall. This controller will also serve a greater purpose if the long rumored Wii U GameCube Virtual Console launches in 2014 as expected.

The Wii U "Wired Fight Pad" will launch this holiday season for $24.99.

Star Fox 64 is one of the greatest 3D space shooters of all time that holds up even today. Despite numerous ambitious sequels, no title in the series has managed to capture the magic of the hit 1997 classic. The game has even cut a path into popular culture with its endlessly quotable dialogue ("Do a barrel roll" being the most famous by far). YouTube channel Smosh Games has lovingly crafted a hilarious "Honest Game Trailer" for Star Fox 64 that is sure to make you wanna fire up your N64 and blast through the Lylat System again. Enjoy!

AlphaOmegaSin Explains Why Protecting Net Neutrality Matters

Tell The FCC To Not Destroy Net Neutrality!! (Share This Info)

The Internet is literally one of the last forms of true freedom in our supposed free country and the FCC is about to destroy it in the worst possible way. It's no secret that businesses and the wealthy own our corrupt government and have been very successful at taking away our "freedoms" while the public blindly allows it to happen. Net Neutrality was put in place to protect the Internet and there has been a long fight to dismantle the freedom it represents and control it by any means possible (SOPA, PIPA, etc.). The latest attack boils down to destroying Net Neutrality which would allow cable providers to dictate what sites you get to see and charge whatever they want for access to different websites and services. Simply put, this shit has got to stop and it requires you to act. I will allow YouTube user AlphaOmegaSin to explain it to you:

Hyrule Warriors Set For Summer 2014 Release

Tecmo Koei recently announced that Hyrule Warriors (that name is subject to change) is on track for a Summer 2014 release in Japan. While a North American release was not announced, it is expected that the title will release outside Japan around the same time (my guess would be August). Little has been heard about the title since its reveal during the December 2013 Nintendo Direct but fans expect the game to have a large presence at E3 2014 next month.

Tecmo Koei has also teased another major collaboration to be revealed later this year. Rumors and speculation are running rampant about what this means and who the collaboration would be with. While the company has expressed a desire to move onto PS4/XBOne, there is still a high possibility that said collaboration will be with Nintendo. Many don't realize how close the company is with the Big N now with 2 major collaborations (Metroid Other M and Hyrule Warriors) and the co-ownership of the Fatal Frame series between the companies. Personally, I am leaning towards Fatal Frame V for Wii U or the expansion of one of Nintendo's other franchises (Star Fox, F-Zero, etc.).
