Armikrog, the spiritual successor to The Neverhood, has just wrapped up its successful Kickstarter run after a tense final week. The game kicked things off with an initial goal of $900,000 and very late in the run added a Wii U stretch goal when funding reached $950,000. There is little doubt that the Wii U stretch is what pushed the campaign over the edge and earned the developers over $970,000 (the campaign was struggling over the last couple weeks). The Wii U version was made possible after Nintendo saw the promising title and contacted Pencil Test Studios to make them officially licensed Nintendo developers. Not only has the game been confirmed for the Wii U but it will also be getting a load of really cool exclusive features that take advantage of the consoles unique Gamepad. You can expect this game to hit Wii U, Linux, PC and Mac in 2014. Personally, I couldn't be happier that the game got funded since The Neverhood is one of my all time favorite PC adventure games.
