Little Inferno Burns Up Wii U This Fall

2D Boy, developers of the sublime WiiWare game World of Goo, have announced their newest game Little Inferno.  While details on the actual game are scarce, information has surfaced about the game's development along with a delightfully twisted teaser trailer for the game.

  • The game seems to focus around burning everything you can find in your fireplace known as the Little Inferno Entertainment Fireplace in order to keep out the invading cold.  Your fuel includes flaming logs, screaming robots, credit cards, batteries, exploding fish, unstable nuclear devices, and tiny galaxies.  This early description seems to point towards a puzzle/adventure style of gameplay with a humorous edge.
  • Allan Blomquist and Kyle Gabler (2D Boy, Creators of World of Goo) are being joined by Kyle Gray, creator of the amazing Nintendo DS game Henry Hatsworth in the Puzzling Adventure.  This new 3 man team will form the development team of Little Inferno known as Tomorrow Corporation.
  • The game will be release Fall 2012 on PC/Mac/Linux and will be console exclusive to the Wii U, no doubt a nod to their huge success with World of Goo on the WiiWare service.
  • The PC/Mac/Linux versions of the game will be DRM & IAP free meaning that there will be no copy protection, spam, upselling or ads of any kind.  This is a nice bonus for computer gamer's who hate all that pesky DRM that infests most commercial releases.
