Renegade Kid co-founder Jools Watsham has revealed via Twitter that the Wii U eShop version of Mutant Mudds has sold more than the combined sales of Steam (PC), PS3 and PS Vita. This is quite noteworthy when you consider how small the Wii U audience is compared to that of those 3 platforms. This is great news for the mass of indie titles coming to the Wii U this year and proves the viability of the eShop for budding & established developers.
When questioned on the 3DS version of Mutant Mudds, Jools stated that the "3DS is king" in terms of sales numbers. While not quite as easy to develop for as the Wii U, the 3DS has proven itself a juggernaut in both digital & retails sales. Many indie developers have even proven that the 3DS eShop can yield higher sales than iOS and Android which is quite amazing when you consider the massive install base of those devices.
