Retro Adventure "Shovel Knight" Coming To Wii U and 3DS

I am a huge fan of the guys over at Wayforward, they have crafted some truly beautiful games with many being exclusive to Nintendo consoles. Their commitment to 2D games and art is very impressive, especially when you consider to current state of the video game industry which tends to frown on traditional 2D games. Wayforward has been responsible for excellent games such as Aliens Infestation (NDS) and A Boy and His Blob (Wii) so when I heard some of their team had broken off to form their own company, I couldn't help but take notice. The new company known as Yacht Club Games has announced their first game titled Shovel Knight which also has its own Kickstarter campaign. Shovel Knight is a retro action adventure title which is set to hit the PC, Wii U and 3DS later this year. The game draws inspiration from classics such as Mega Man, Castlevania and Zelda 2 and showcases the level of polish we've come to expect from developers who worked on the excellent Shantae and Mighty Switch Force. As far as I'm concerned, I have no problem with the Wii U not getting more uninspired sequels from 3rd party companies as long as we keep getting great original titles like these.
